Christine is a student since 1983 teacher of BMC and mostly focuses on BMC as an ongoing inquiry: so, we will first mine the insights and experiences of the group and discuss our findings. Christine will also clarify some of the information that underlies Bonnie's teaching to make your engagement more easeful and take away some of the hurdles to participate and understand the teaching. Join us for an Intensive Professional deep dive into the embodied world of the organs. You may take this as a separate unit or JOIN the SomaticBODY program.
This module dives into major themes of; Breath/ lungs, heart/ circulation, Digestion/ gut - brain and Sexual organs and their embryology!
The organs provide a fullness and depth to our movement and expression in life
Each one has its own function which contributes to the whole body, expressing itself in dance and emotion in a wide range of ways: the digestive tract expresses the relationship of taking in and letting go; lungs offer the exquisite and delicate act of breathing; the spiral heart grows from blood circulation of the embryo.
This module will tap into the enteric nervous system, which is independent of the brain and operates with a wide range of chemical and microbiome choice-making and collaboration and give you techniques to bring up this system that underlies the brain. The Autonomic Nervous system will also be investigated, with a focus on the vagus and sympathetic nerves, which provide the rhythm of wellbeing and trust from within the body.
The study of embryonic development will continue, and focus on the development of organs, heart, and sexual organs. The sexual organs eventually harbor the germ cells that protect the DNA from mutations and changes in order to pass them on to the next generation. The pathway of the germ cells is a fantastic journey through the body.
Organs are useful in diagnosing clients well being and alignment. Specific organs support developmental movement patterns.

How did BMC contribute to the form, warm-ups, exercises? How did people stay safe in the early days of reckless and risky dances?
The developmental patterns - basically baby and TODDLER movement, give CI teachers wonderful tools to support dancers going into and out of the ground.
Christine Cole found CI in Freiburg in 1981, and keeps this practice and research to today. She became a teacher of BMC, teacher of CI and lived in Western Massachusetts, where both Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen and Nancy Stark Smith resided, therefore having access to both leaders in their field and curated a festival where they spoke about their history, their work and their connection.
She runs SomaticBODY trainings in Europe, Israel and the USA and teaches Somatics using CI, She is concerned about Somatics as being understood as not only a nice, sensing, calming practice, but also as wild, powerful, and radical.
